A day full of color\, music\, dance\, and Spanish tradition.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year you can look forward to: \n\nLive flamenco show with renowned artists\nEquestrian performance\nKids’ area for the little ones\nTraditional Spanish food\nAnd a live paella show by Tasty Paella for the third year in a row!\n\nOn stage we will enjoy the unique voice of Celia Corrales\, the talent of José Manuel Tejada (guitar)\, Jesús Pacheco (percussion)\, and the passion of flamenco dancer Ana María Barceló. We’ll also celebrate the talent of Texas flamenco schools\, whose teachers and students will perform and share their art with us. \nThe Feria de Abril in Texas is a multicultural event that brings together the Spanish\, American\, and Latin American communities of Houston and beyond. More than 600 people will experience this unique celebration in 2026. \nAn event with a cause: \nThis year\, the Feria will support the important work of Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County\, a nonprofit organization that builds and improves homes so more families can have a safe\, decent\, and affordable place to live. \n10% of the event’s proceeds will be donated to support their new development in Magnolia and contribute to their mission in our community. \nDon’t miss the most joyful and meaningful Feria of the year in Houston! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nlive flamenco\, equestrian shows\, Spanish food (like paella!)\, music\, and a kids’ zone\, celebrating Andalusian traditions with Spanish and Latin communities! \n

DESCRIPTION:Carmens de la Calle is proud to present Mia de Lourdes and Olivia Chacon\, for a full-circle\nmoment of flamenco on Friday\, 4 September 2026 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. at the legendary\nCarmens de la Calle café\, 320 N. Flores Street\, San Antonio Texas\, 78205.\nMia de Lourdes\, based in Madrid\, Spain\, joins her mentor Olivia Chacon onstage once again\nafter studying with her as a child. Olivia Chacon and Isai Chacon are the directors of A ́lanté\nFlamenco based in Austin\, Texas\, which they founded after an extensive residency in Spain.\nMia de Lourdes\, was born and raised in San Antonio\, Texas\, where she first fell in love with\nflamenco at the age of four. Since then\, she has dedicated her life to the art\, establishing\nherself as a professional flamenco dancer in Madrid\, Spain. She is deeply committed to the art\nof tablao\, the core art of flamenco which requires complete connection between artists to\nenable spontaneity and improvisation onstage in a singular moment. Mia’s artistry reflects a\nprofound respect for flamenco—not merely as a dance form\, but as a lifelong practice\, and a\nway of life.\nThis one-time performance is an opportunity for Mia de Lourdes to come back to her\nhometown and share her work with the community that made her the artist and person she is\ntoday. Witness this full-circle moment of San Antonio flamenco history with Mia de Lourdes\,\nOlivia Chacon\, guitarist Isai Chacon\, and singer Guille Gonzalez. Following the performance\,\nflamenco dancers throughout the community are invited to come dance with us.
