Curatorial Statement
Sonidos de Libertad brings flamenco into conversation with the urgency of punk, protest, and embodied freedom. The work places rhythm, voice, gesture, and defiance at the center of the stage, asking how performance can hold both beauty and resistance.
This online exhibition presents documentary photographs from the production as a visual record of energy in motion. The images hold flashes of intensity: bodies crossing light, fabric cutting through space, hands lifted in refusal, and performers meeting the audience with force.
Rather than separating flamenco from contemporary struggle, Sonidos de Libertad insists that tradition remains alive when it speaks to the present. These photographs preserve the charge of a performance shaped by collaboration, risk, and the search for liberation.
